SHIRLEY TONG

Flute

A Master graduate of Royal Academy of Music, Shirley has been inspired by many flute and piccolo professors since, including Samuel Coles, Kate Hill and Patricia Morris, just to name a few. ​

Prior to receive the entrance scholarship to Royal Academy of Music, Shirley was the prize winner for the Ken Smith Flute Prize 2010 before she graduated with a 1st Class Honors for Bachelor of Music (Hons) from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. ​

In the recent years back in the Singapore music scene, Shirley has been actively involved in performances with various Arts groups such as Re:Sound Chamber Orchestra, The Philharmonic Orchestra, New Opera Singapore and Metropolitan Festival Orchestra.​

As an active Flute tutor in the local band scene, Shirley teaches across all levels of students from primary to university and specialises in problem solving as well as creative methods to enhance the skills of flute playing.​
