JEREMY CHUA

Clarinet

Jeremy  started  learning  the  clarinet  during his  secondary  school  days and went on to Nanyang  Academy  of Fine  Arts to  pursue  his  music  education where he obtained his  Diploma  of Music  Performance  (Orchestra  studies). He  studied  with SSO  assistant principal  Tang Xiao Ping. 

 

He  went  on and persued his  Bachelor of Music  at the  Robert  Schumann Hochschule  Duesseldorf under Prof. Ulf Rodenhaeuser and Prof. Kerstin  Groetsch. Following that, He obtained his Master of

Music  at  the  Leopold Mozart  Zentrum  Augsburg under Professor Harald Harrer.

Jeremy  had also played  in the  Singapore National Youth Orchestra,  Windstars  Ensemble, Orchestra  Collective,  Singapore  Lyric Opera, Junge  Blaeserphilharmonie  NRW, Orchesterzentrum  NRW  Dortmund and  Neusasser Chamber Orchestra.

He  is  a  keen chamber musician,  who has performed many  beautiful  chamber works  from Mozart,  Weber,  Brahms,  Wellesz,  Dvorak,  Bruch, etc. Lastly,  he  won the  NAFA  concerto competition in  2009 together  with clarinettist  Ivan Ng and also won 2nd Prize  in the  2nd Flute  Festival  Ensemble  Competition 2011 with friends  flautist  Daniel Bonaventure  Lim  and  pianist  Thomas  Ang.  Together  with his  string quartet, they  were  at  the  final round in  the  2016 Schmolz-Bickenbach Chamber music  Competition.
