DAVID ZECHARIAH KWEK
Clarinet
David graduated from the Royal College of Music, London, with First Class Honours. He has been a registered freelance musician with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra since 2018 and the
​
Principal Clarinet of the Bandung Philharmonic (5th Season, 2019/20).

David’s teaching experience comes from his time spent at the Kids' Philharmonic Orchestra as their woodwind instructor, where he coached young wind players on orchestra repertoire and ensemble skills. Under his guidance and direction, they put up a public performance of wind chamber works in 2018. He was also the Clarinet Clinician for WINDS WEEKEND! 2019 organised by nWinds, where he taught young clarinettists over a span of two days, working towards a public performance which included his own arrangements. Currently, he coaches the clarinet sections of multiple government school bands & teaches privately. David is also an adjunct lecturer at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), teaching principal study and clarinet studio classes.

His achievements include the NAFA Merit Award AY2018/19, Best Graduate Award 2019 for the graduating cohort of the Bachelor of Music (Honours), and the Embassy of Peru Award 2019. David was also the 1st prize winner (under 28 years old category) of the Macao Clarinet Competition, 2019.
