DANIELLE ONG
Saxophone
Danielle Ong first started her music journey as a saxophonist in secondary school in Singapore, and has since gone on to pursue music professionally. Having experienced the importance and enjoyment of music education, she now teaches at various educational institutions in Singapore and aims to help build up future generations of musicians.
As an active chamber musician, she is a part organiser of the Protege Saxophone Ensemble, a member of the New Meta Saxophone Quartet and the NAFA Saxophone Quartet/Ensemble. Danielle has represented these groups in performances internationally and locally.
In addition to chamber music, she has also performed with the Orchestra of Music Makers (OMM) and The Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO) in Singapore. Her recent travels have taken her to the World Saxophone Congress XVIII 2018 in Zagreb, Croatia where she had the honour of representing the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts as a quartet and premiering Singaporean compositions overseas.
She is also involved in the annual Asia Pacific Saxophone Academy (APSA) international saxophone summer camp, where she takes masterclasses from the faculty of international saxophonists while receiving a full scholarship for her administrative and organisational work as an intern.
Danielle is a graduate of the Diploma in Music from the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and will be pursuing a Bachelor of Music under the tutelage of Dr Leslie Wong Kah Ho.
